Navigating My First Months at TAM Solutions: Insights on Culture, Connection, and Growth

Job searching can be a long and sometimes frustrating process. I went through multiple interviews, explored different opportunities, and found myself in situations where something just didn’t feel right. It wasn’t about the role itself—it was about the culture, the people, and how teams worked together.

During my search, I connected with a team member from TAM Solutions, which led to a conversation with the team. Unlike other interviews I had before, this one felt more like an open discussion than a formal evaluation. There was a level of transparency that I appreciated—no scripted responses, no overselling, just an honest conversation about the company and how they operate.


Settling In: My Onboarding Experience

Starting a new job always comes with an adjustment period, but from day one, I felt genuinely welcomed. I had an onboarding session where I was introduced to the company’s values, team structure, and daily activities. Instead of just handing me documents, the team took the time to walk me through key aspects of the role.

When it came to understanding the client, I was given a broad perspective on how the collaboration had evolved over time. The technical onboarding, like learning platforms and processes, was led directly by the client, which gave me first-hand exposure to their way of working.


Beyond the structured sessions, I had one-on-one conversations with different team members, which made a huge difference in feeling integrated. Communication is straightforward and collaborative, and anytime I had a question, there was always someone willing to help.


Becoming Part of the Team

One of the things that stood out to me early on was how connected the team is, despite working remotely.


Our weekly sync meetings cover project updates, challenges, and important milestones. There’s also a dedicated space for company-wide updates, where information is shared openly. Something I really enjoy is how these meetings wrap up—with the Culture Committee taking over, where we answer a fun or thought-provoking question. It’s a simple yet effective way to get to know each other beyond work.


We also have Game Day and Virtual Coffee Office Hours, which create opportunities to connect in a more casual setting. And then there’s the group chat, where updates, celebrations, and even random daily moments are shared. It’s a space where work and personality blend naturally.


The Power of Presence in Remote Work

One thing that seemed small at first but quickly became essential is the habit of turning cameras on during meetings.


In remote work, it's easy to feel detached, but having cameras on changes the dynamic. It makes conversations feel real, helps build relationships, and keeps communication more engaging. Seeing reactions and expressions creates a sense of presence that emails and chats just don’t offer.


A Leadership Approach That Stands Out

Another aspect that I didn’t expect—but highly value—is how leadership genuinely seeks feedback.


Every week, I have a one-on-one meeting with Federico, where we go over how things are going, any challenges I might be facing, and overall reflections on my role. What caught me off guard the first time was how he always ends the meeting:

"What can I do better?"


In many companies, feedback tends to be a one-way street, focused on employees improving their performance. Here, it’s different. Leaders ask for input, reflect on it, and actively look for ways to improve. That approach changes the entire dynamic—it creates an environment where conversations feel open and where growth isn’t just encouraged but expected at every level.


Looking Back on My Journey So Far

After several months, I’ve realized that what makes a job fulfilling isn’t just the tasks—it’s the way people work together.


Having a structured environment is great, but what really makes a difference is feeling heard, knowing that your input matters, and working alongside people who genuinely care about what they do.


For me, this has been more than just starting a new job—it’s been about finding a place where I can do meaningful work while staying connected to the people I collaborate with every day.
